Do I have to be a paid Bay Area Bicycle Network Member to view or post Business Listings, Classified Ads, or Events?
Anyone can view any information on the website, but you must be a Member to post any Classified Ads, Events or Business Listings. Member benefits include free Classified Ads, Event Calendar and business Listings, as well as, the Cycling Forum. See the complete list of Member Benefits and become a paid BABN Member today!
Am I going to get a bunch of spam or junk mail from Bay Area Bicycle Network if I become a Member?
No. Unlike many web directories, Member information will not be sold or shared. Please see our Privacy Policy. If you check the box in Member registration, you may receive email news, offers, events notices, etc. directly from Bay Area Bicycle Network. If you choose to include an email link in your business listing, your actual email address will be concealed. While BABNmail conceals your address from harvesting programs, remember that our site is open to the public. Anyone can click the link to send you a BABNmail message.
Does your system provide any protection against spammers and email harvesting programs?
Yes. Bay Area Bicycle Network uses a custom email system called 'BABNmail'. This email system operates from Bay Area Bicycle Network's server and conceals the address of the recipient while allowing visitors to send email by clicking on a live link. Because your address is invisible, email harvesting programs can't capture it and spammers can't save it to their mailing lists. Note: If you reply to a message sent via BABNmail, the recipient can see your address. Even so, we've included a "don't link" box for you to check if you don't want a clickable email link in your listing.
Why does it take 1-2 days for my listing to be posted?
All new submissions are reviewed for accuracy and appropriate placement before posting. We work hard to review and post listings as quickly as possible, so you may find that turnaround is faster then the 1-2 day estimate, often just a few hours.
